Issued pursuant to Section 16 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and the Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022.
1. Policy Statement
Borong is committed to providing and maintaining, so far as is reasonably practicable, a working environment that is safe and without risk to the health of its employees, and to protecting visitors, contractors and any other persons who may be affected by its operations. The safety, health and welfare of our people is a core management responsibility and an integral part of how we run our business, and it will not be compromised for commercial, operational or scheduling reasons.
Borong's operations are office-based, conducted at Suite 13.02, Level 13, Menara IGB, Mid Valley City, Lingkaran Syed Putra, 59200 Kuala Lumpur. This Policy, and the arrangements that support it, are proportionate to the risk profile of a digital procurement and technology business operating from managed commercial office premises. The principal risks of our workplace relate to fire and emergency situations, ergonomics and display screen equipment, electrical safety of office equipment, slips, trips and falls, general wellbeing, and travel undertaken for business purposes.
2. Our Commitments
In giving effect to this Policy, Borong commits to:
- Legal compliance. Comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and its regulations, and all other applicable safety, health, fire and building requirements, including the safety and emergency procedures established by the building management of Menara IGB, and monitor changes in legal requirements that affect our workplace;
- Safe premises and equipment. Provide and maintain office premises, workstations, equipment and systems of work that are, so far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risks to health, including the safe condition and use of electrical and IT equipment and the ergonomic set-up of workstations;
- Emergency preparedness. Establish and maintain emergency response arrangements appropriate to our operations, covering emergency reporting, employee notification, evacuation and business recovery, in coordination with building management. This includes ensuring that fire detection and suppression systems are in place, that emergency exits are clearly marked, that evacuation routes are kept unobstructed at all times, and that employees participate in fire and evacuation drills and safety briefings conducted or coordinated by the Company or building management;
- Information and signage. Display health and safety information, including emergency evacuation procedures, designated emergency exits, hazard warnings and first-aid information, at appropriate and prominent locations within the office, and maintain first-aid provision suitable for our workforce;
- Training and awareness. Provide employees with health and safety information, instruction and training appropriate to their work, as part of onboarding and through periodic safety briefings, drills and internal communications, so that employees are aware of the risks relevant to their work and the precautions to be taken;
- Incident prevention, management and reporting. Maintain procedures for preventing, managing, tracking and reporting occupational injuries and illnesses. This includes providing or facilitating necessary medical treatment; recording and investigating accidents, incidents, near-misses and work-related ill health to identify root causes; implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence; making statutory notifications to the relevant authorities where required; and supporting the timely and safe return to work of any affected employee;
- Health and welfare. Provide employees with group medical insurance covering outpatient and in-patient care, statutory sick leave and hospitalisation leave entitlements, and maintain adequate insurance coverage for our operations, including public liability insurance and standard office insurance; and
- Consultation and continuous improvement. Consult with employees on matters affecting their safety and health, encourage the reporting of hazards and unsafe conditions, review our safety and health arrangements periodically, and pursue continuous improvement in our safety performance.

Concerns may be raised confidentially and, where preferred, anonymously. All reported concerns are reviewed promptly, and appropriate corrective action is taken where necessary.
