Cold-pressed coconut oil are extracted from copra or dried coconut kernel, usually after drying coconuts in the sun. As the name suggests, the coconuts are pressed to extract the oil and is ready for use and consumption. However virgin coconut oil is extracted from the fresh coconut milk and left to settle down. Its mild taste and smell make it perfect for cooking, while its nourishing properties make it an ideal choice for conditioning your hair and skin after a shower or bath. It also adds a touch of natural shine when used on hair or nails. Cold-pressed coconut oil really offers something for everyone! This method extracts the least amount of coconut oil compared to other extraction methods. However, it results in a high-quality and extremely pure product. Accordingly, coconut oil derived from using cold pressing methods remains the most expensive. Cold-pressed coconut oil is considered raw because it retains all the nutrients and beneficial compounds from the coconut. While time-consuming and labor-intensive (and as a result, slightly more expensive), it remains one of the best ways to retain coconut oil’s nutritive benefits. The oil becomes pure, unrefined, and not deodorized. This results in the oil still having a pleasant coconut scent and taste.
